About Askaree

Askaree provides 20 to 30 hours each year of timely legal analysis of current developments, and continuing legal education. Practitioners are permitted to do five out of the ten compulsory hours of CLE on-line. Each month, between two and three hours of CLE will be available in video, podcast, and recorded formats.  

The main presenter is Lee Aitken who currently teaches at the University of Sydney, UNSW, UTS, and the University of Hong Kong. He was first admitted in 1979 and studied at the ANU, Oxford, and Columbia University. He practised at the NSW Bar from 1994 to 2005 and appeared in the High Court in Reid v Howard, Garcia v NAB, Tanwar v Cauchi, and Palgo Holdings v Gowans and was trial counsel in Kirk v Industrial Relations Commission. He writes for a large number of law journals and contributes frequently to the NSW Law Society Journal.  

Askaree will cover every important area of practice in its programmes. It aims to provide a mixture of highly practical and theoretical analysis, and particularly to assist and educate new members of the profession.
